
Eric Marcus has extensive experience in IT law, outsourcing, consulting and business management. He has served as CIO and CTO for a Fortune 500 publishing company, practiced IT law and developed and led consulting, systems integration and outsourcing practices for major IT professional service firms. Representative consulting clients have included Johnson & Johnson Pharmaceuticals, Borden Chemical, ING Group, Marriott International, Shell and Land O’Lakes.
As the head of Information Technology Solutions, Hudson Global Resources, Eric led a professional services business providing a full range of IT services, solutions, skill-specific teams, and entire IT department outsourcing solutions for multi-billion dollar global clients. He practiced IT law for many years focusing on contracts, service level agreements and intellectual property, as well as corporate legal issues. Previously, Eric was CIO and CTO for Commerce Clearing House (CCH), a Fortune 500 publishing company, where he was responsible for worldwide information systems, commercial software development, and support and electronic publishing technologies. He has also served as vice president, CSC Index Research and Advisory Services, and executive director of its Vanguard program, where he led this global, multi-client strategic technology service.
Eric authored The Digital Alchemist®, a guide to applying information technology to develop actionable business strategies that change the rules of competition. Published in 2002, it was a Benjamin Franklin award winner for business books. He has also served as a member of the London Business School’s global expert panel on future media and as a panelist for the National Academy of Sciences/National Research Council’s Technology Deployment for the National Information Infrastructure program. He has been widely quoted in such media as Wired, The Wall Street Journal, CIO Magazine, The Financial Review (Aus), The Australian (Aus), The Independent (UK), as well as the bestselling business books Evolutionary Leadership and Webonomics.
Eric Marcus holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics from Occidental College and a J.D. from Loyola Law School.
